Akron Special Machinery and Akron Steel Fabricators will start the process of reopening. This will happen in 3 phases with the
Phase 1 - Ending on May 4th 2020
Shut down with a minimal work crew, some employees will work from home.
Phase 2 - Beginning May 4th 2020 [REOPENING]
Recalling of supervisors and key employees to prepare for reopen. Employees will be recalled to work on critical orders. Some employees will continue to work from home and may be requested to come into the office one day per week to check mail and other duties.
Phase 3 - Beginning May 11th 2020
Over the next 2 weeks employees will be recalled. Hopefully by June 1st we will be reopen.
Employees that are to return to work will be contacted via phone, email or a visit.
Employee Procedures for Returning to Work
Taking Temperature: Employees are to take temperature prior to coming to work. Stay home if you have a temperature higher than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Notify your supervisor that you will not be reporting to work, a doctor’s excuse may be required to return to work, after 3 days of showing no fever the employee may to return to work.
Any employee showing signs of illness will be sent home and advised to see a doctor.
Stay Home If you do not feel well. Call to let your supervisor know you are not coming in; a doctor’s permission may be required to return to work.
While at work you begin to not feel well let your supervisor know prior to going home.
Social Distancing Requirements: Maintain a physical distance of at least 6’. Use Signage, tape, or by other means six foot spacing for employees.
Please refrain from shaking hands or any physical contact just a polite hello is sufficient at this time.
Sneeze or cough into the crook of your elbow as to not spread germs and avoid face touching.
Online and Remote Access: Those employees that are able to work from home, via remote access, should and are to only come to the plant on a as need basis.
Practice Proper Hygiene: wash hands often and properly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY twice.
MASK: Mask will be provided; you may bring your own personal mask if you wish.
When in a room with one or more people a mask will be required, a mask is not required if you are the only person in the room. If someone enters the room a mask must be worn. (I am waiting for further guidelines from the health department.)
