Mr. David Poling Sr.Mr. Poling is a graduate of The University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  Mr. Poling has extensive experience in the specification, design, and building of engineered products for the rubber, steel, and plastics industries.  His experience includes project work with global manufacturing and distribution companies in the rubber, plastics, chemicals, and steel industries.

Mr. Poling has served as the President of Akron Steel Fabricators, Akron Special Machinery Inc., and the Poling Group.  Under Mr. Poling’s leadership the companies comprising the Poling Group have greatly expanded their products and services capabilities through the acquisition of complementary businesses and growth of the organization to over 100 associates.

Brian MitchellAn associate of ASM since 1979, Mr. Mitchell’s career has given him special knowledge of tire testing equipment that spans both customer and manufacturing points of view.
In field service, Mr. Mitchell spent significant time directing the installation, start up, and maintenance of ASM equipment in tire factories all over the world. That experience, combined with years of machine production and remanufacturing effort, uniquely qualify Mr. Mitchell to ensure that Poling Group customers receive cost-effective equipment that meets and exceeds their most stringent processing requirements.

  Commercial Timesharing, Inc. (CTI)
Ronald SymensAfter graduating from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Mr. Symens was recruited into the prestigious Firestone College Class Management Group.  He held various corporate and plant engineering positions with increasing levels of responsibility.  After leaving Firestone, Mr. Symens worked for Hewlett Packard in Cleveland, Ohio and was instrumental in establishing the first technical consulting engagements for the company.

In 1978 Mr. Symens and Curtis Lamb established Commercial Timesharing, Inc. (CTI) to create a time-shared record keeping and billing system for medical clinics on a multi-user minicomputer.  In 1980 CTI began to seek engineering engagements in the manufacturing industries of northeast Ohio.  Under Mr. Symens leadership, CTI has become internationally recognized for designing tire uniformity controls and process data collection systems.  Mr. Symens sold CTI to the Poling Group in 2002 and continues to provide leadership and technical design as the President of CTI.

TROY L. ANENSON / VP, Engineering
Troy AnensonMr. Anenson has been with CTI since 1989. Mr. Anenson has a wealth of experience in factory automation projects using Unix/Linux applications interfaced with a variety of PLCs. In addition he designed and implemented a number of integrated systems for FedEx, Goodyear, Bridgestone Firestone, Timken, and other corporate clients.
Today he leads CTI’s TTOC (Tire Testing & Optimization Controller) design and support team, in addition to providing leadership for CTI’s engineering involvement with other companies in the Poling Group.

JOHN McCARTHY / VP, Software Systems

John McCarthyMr. McCarthy has been with CTI since 1986. Mr. McCarthy has extensive experience with tire and rubber factory Information systems.  He has been involved in the design and implementation of a rubber mixing control system, compound quality lab systems, the implementation and enhancement of an in-process inventory management system spanning mixing to tire building, and over fifteen years of experience in tire final finish room data collection and distribution.

Today he leads CTI’s FFH (Final Finish Host) development and support team.

Alex HasbachMr. Hasbach, registered in Germany as a State Qualified Mechanical Engineer, is a graduate of the College of Technology in Cologne and a recognized expert in tire endurance testing design.
Mr. Hasbach’s international career includes positions of increasing responsibility with Hasbach, HaWiTec, and Akron Special Machinery.  Along with experience in project management, equipment design, feasibility studies, equipment specification, and product development, Mr. Hasbach brings a unique global perspective to his current position as Vice President of Sales and Engineering at ASM-Hasbach.

Leon Poole Akron Steel Fabricators announces Leon Poole has been promoted to the position of Executive Vice president. Leon has been with ASF since 1987.  
Mr. Poole formerly held the position of manager of system controls and design engineering and now adds the responsibility of operating manager for the plant.

Stephen EricsonMr. Ericson has over 30 years experience in the tire and automotive machine building industry.  He earned his degree in engineering design from Western Michigan University, where he was President of the Engineering Association.

Steve worked in the family business, Firwood Manufacturing Company, as its Chief Design Engineer. During this time, he also worked on a training program at a major US tire plant and learned the complete tire manufacturing process.  Mr. Ericson’s designs include: automotive assembly equipment, tube benders, the wire antenna machine, white sidewall grinders and skivers.  Mr. Ericson recently joined the Poling Group as Vice President of Akron Special Machinery, Inc. where he will continue to design and produce world class equipment
